It works very well as long as you press the apples down hard. We made a wooden thing to press the apples down so maybe one could be supplied with the crusher
Excellent product for easily processing apples of different sizes without having to cut them. I tried it with crab apples, cider apples, giant cooking apples, quince, Japanese quince and it made short work of all of them
The Apple Scratter works beautifully, easily shredding whole apples. Make sure you brace it to stop it tipping, and position it so that when turning the handle you’re not bending over all the time. I also recommend getting a wooden block to help hold/press the apples in to the hopper.
Not only is this a very efficient scratter, but it provides us with endless fun and gives us all a chance to make fresh apple juice very quickly and easily. It’s also so easy to clean by taking it outside and just hosing it down.
Well made & works well. Scratting is quicker when apples are cut in half.
